The International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Iraq

Baghdad – (iina) Iraq has one of the largest cases of disabilities in the world. There are many root causes, including wars, terrorism, accidents, and birth defects. Unfortunately, many of these individuals struggle to find their voice in the Iraqi society as they feel neglected. Having very little financial support and a lack of understanding of ways in which they can be included in the society through activities is greatly evident.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is an important event to educate people of Iraq on resources and action plans they can develop to support people with disabilities. Being disabled does not mean being unable to do anything, they all have something to offer. This matter is raised at the conference for the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Baghdad.
