Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, inaugurated the College of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at the University of Technology, in the presence of ministry deputies and a number of faculty members.
In a press conference, the Minister said the establishment of the college marks a strategic milestone in the path of digital transformation and the knowledge economy adopted by the Ministry. The college includes specialised departments in Smart Control Engineering, Intelligent Robotics Engineering, Intelligent Computing Systems and Cybersecurity Engineering, and Cognitive Systems Engineering.
The Ministry has so far established ten specialised artificial intelligence colleges across public and private universities, in response to labour market demand for qualified experts capable of designing advanced technological solutions to support development in various sectors.
The academic programmes have been developed in line with modern international standards, stressing that today’s inauguration reflects confidence in the future of higher education in Iraq and represents an important step forward.
