Third Kufa Bridge in Najaf Reaches 67% Completion

The Ministry of Planning announced on Wednesday that work on the Third Kufa Bridge , the second carriageway in Najaf has reached 67% completion.

The project extends 1,750 metres. It includes a bridge over the Euphrates River, approach roads, a two-lane carriageway, pavements, a central median, lighting poles and a full traffic system.

According to the Ministry, the bridge is a vital infrastructure project aimed at easing congestion on the existing Imam Ali Bridge, facilitating vehicle movement into Najaf from Baghdad and southern provinces, and serving as a main route for pilgrims.

The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2026, pending resolution of land compensation issues related to the approaches.
