Production Line 1000 Back in Operation: Gas Sector Update

The Ministry of Oil has announced the successful resumption of operations at the North Gas Company’s production line 1000 after completing maintenance work ahead of schedule. This achievement aligns with the directives of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, to enhance production efficiency in Iraq’s gas sector.

Mr. Ezzat Saber, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, affirmed the ministry’s commitment to developing the gas sector and ensuring the steady supply of resources to both governmental and private entities. Maintenance work on the production line, which commenced on October 25, was initially planned to take one month. However, thanks to the relentless efforts of the engineering and technical teams, it was completed in just 21 days.

The expedited maintenance allowed production to resume on Sunday, November 17, ensuring the availability of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to meet the needs of citizens, power generation stations, and other sectors. Mr. Saber praised the dedication and around-the-clock efforts of the staff, whose professionalism and efficiency made this early completion possible.

This milestone reflects the ministry’s broader objective of bolstering Iraq’s energy sector, following the government’s vision for energy self-reliance and sustainable development.
