Pink Month Bazaar in Baghdad Empowers Women Entrepreneurs

Under the patronage of Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Mohammed, the Ministry organised a charity bazaar to support women and small-scale projects, coinciding with October, the Pink Month dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer.

The event was hosted by the Minister’s Office, Women’s Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Shams Al-Salam Foundation for Development and Arts and coordinated by the Ministry’s Voluntary Work Committee.

The initiative aims to economically empower women by providing a platform to showcase their handmade products and home based projects, thereby promoting a culture of self production and women’s entrepreneurship.

The bazaar witnessed active participation from a number of creative women entrepreneurs who presented a range of products, including handicrafts and homemade foods, in an atmosphere of solidarity and positive engagement among Ministry staff and visitors.

This humanitarian and social event is part of the Ministry of Finance’s broader efforts to foster volunteerism, strengthen community support, and promote health awareness, particularly about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

Through such initiatives, the Ministry continues to demonstrate its commitment to social responsibility and women’s empowerment, aligning with national goals of supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
