Opening of the First Digital Library in Baghdad

In a big step forward in the country’s journey towards knowledge advancement, Iraq has officially opened its first and largest digital library in Baghdad. 

The project comes as part of a comprehensive government vision, targeted towards strengthening digital governance and enabling easier access to knowledge resources, in particular for students and researchers. 

The Digital Library will be the first of its kind in Iraq, the seventh globally. With international standards central to its design, the project is currently preparing to launch its second phase, focusing on equipping the library with technological devices and systems necessary to complete the digital transformation process.
