The Ministry of Planning announced that its specialised follow-up team visited the project of establishing the Medical Faculty at the University of Maysan to assess progress.
The project covers 24,000 square metres, with a building area of 12,500 square metres, and will accommodate up to 3,500 students. It includes a three-storey main building, Student Affairs building, library, cafeteria, six lecture halls, 12 laboratories, services building, sports playground, parking, gardens, and a pedestrian bridge connecting it to Hakim Teaching Hospital.
The Ministry confirmed the completion rate has reached 18%, with the project expected to be finalised in the second half of 2028. The project is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Iraq’s higher education infrastructure.
