New Dental Facility Serves 300K in Wasit

The Wasit Health Department has inaugurated a specialised dental centre in Al-Suwaira District, located north of Kut City. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi, Governor of Wasit, Dr. Muhammad Jamil Al-Mayah, and local government officials.

This initiative aligns with the priorities of the government programme to improve access to specialised healthcare across the governorate. Dr. Jabbar Al-Yasiri, Director General of the Wasit Health Department, emphasised the importance of integrating medical and therapeutic services, highlighting that the new dental centre is equipped with advanced medical devices from international manufacturers and staffed by highly trained doctors, dental technicians, and support personnel.

The facility is expected to serve over 300,000 residents in Al-Suwaira District and surrounding areas, offering comprehensive dental health services, including medical and therapeutic treatments.

Dr. Al-Yasiri reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Health and the Wasit Health Department to expanding access to specialised healthcare, with plans to open three additional specialised centres soon.

This project marks a milestone in the development of healthcare infrastructure in Wasit Governorate, reflecting the government’s dedication to improving the quality of life for its citizens through enhanced medical services.
