Italy and UNESCO Support Education for Iraqi Youth

In a step towards stronger diplomatic relations, UNESCO has announced the launch of a three-year project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, aimed at expanding access to quality education for Iraqi children.

The project, closely coordinated with the Iraqi Ministry of Education, the Iraqi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, and the Embassy of Italy in Iraq, primarily targets 40,000 out-of-school young people from across the Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan governorates.

Further support from UNAMI (The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq) reflects the international community’s commitment to inclusive learning and strengthening educational opportunities for some of Iraq’s most vulnerable youth.
