The Ministry of Oil announced the successful full operation of the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit at the South Refineries Company, marking the start of production for high-octane gasoline.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Oil, Eng. Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, praised the efforts of South Refineries Company personnel for their dedication for contributing to Iraq’s self-sufficiency in petroleum products.
The final operation was completed on 31 January 2026, adding that the achievement strengthens Iraq’s capabilities in oil derivatives production and will ensure a daily output of 4,200 cubic meters of high-octane gasoline.
