Iraq’s Mining Industry Achieves Global ISO Certifications

The General Corporation for Mining Industries, under the Ministry of Minerals and Industry, has received ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety certifications. The awards were granted by the Quality Assurance Company and recognised with merit by IFC Global.

Engineer Muhammad Qasim Muften, the company’s General Manager, said the achievement marks a new milestone in the corporation’s development. The company previously earned the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, reflecting its commitment to global standards in industrial performance.

Muften emphasised that the new certifications demonstrate the company’s dedication to environmental protection, occupational safety, and sustainable working conditions, in line with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals’ efforts to enhance production and service standards across Iraq.
