Minister of Communications, Dr Hayam El-Yasri, Chairman of the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Joint Committee, arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit to follow up on the implementation of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries. The visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership across economic and investment sectors that serve the mutual interests of Iraq and Azerbaijan.
Dr El-Yasri was received in Baku by Ambassador Ildar Salimov and Shaheen Ismailov, Head of the Foreign Relations Department at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. A welcoming ceremony highlighted the growing bilateral relations between the two nations.
The visit will focus on reviewing the progress of ongoing projects, ensuring the implementation of signed agreements, and exploring further opportunities for cooperation in communications, digital development, and investment.
The Ministry of Communications’ media office noted that Dr El-Yasri’s visit reflects Iraq’s commitment to deepening strategic partnerships and advancing collaborative initiatives that support economic and technological development.
