Iraqi Airways has introduced a new electronic service that allows passengers to select their seats and issue boarding passes through the airline’s mobile app and official website. A move aimed at modernising travel procedures and improving customer convenience.
The initiative follows the directives of Minister of Transport Razzaq Al-Saadawi, who has called for continuous upgrades to passenger services and alignment with global aviation standards.
The airline’s General Manager, Engineer Monaf Abdel Moneim, explained that the new feature enables travellers to choose their preferred seat and obtain a boarding pass several days before their flight, free of charge. This eliminates the need to visit airport ticket counters for check-in, particularly for those travelling with small hand luggage.
The digital service aims to simplify procedures, save time, and enhance comfort for passengers throughout their journey. The launch is part of a broader plan to expand Iraqi Airways’ smart services and improve the overall travel experience with the national carrier.
Abdel Moneim has added that several other commercial and electronic services will be introduced soon, reflecting the airline’s commitment to keeping pace with global technological advancements in air travel and digital transformation within Iraq’s transport sector.
