Iraq, Türkiye Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation Efforts

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met on Sunday with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Iraq, Mr Anıl Bora İnan, to discuss ongoing cooperation and ways to deepen bilateral relations across multiple fields.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the latest developments in joint work, particularly in areas linked to regional stability, economic cooperation, and the mutual interests shared by the neighbouring countries.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani noted that relations between Iraq and Türkiye have continued to progress steadily, supported by a shared commitment to advancing joint agreements and memorandums of understanding. He highlighted the recent signing of the implementation mechanism for the Water Cooperation Agreement as a key milestone in managing water resources and improving water inflows.

Ambassador İnan expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s ongoing support for strengthening ties, reiterating Türkiye’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Iraq in all fields and expanding the long-standing partnership between the two nations.
