Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani oversaw the signing of a new implementation mechanism for the Framework Cooperation Agreement on water between Iraq and Türkiye.
The mechanism includes a package of joint projects designed to improve water management.
The agreement, signed on the 2nd of November in Baghdad by Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Al- Sudani underlined the importance of the agreement, and strengthened cooperation between Türkiye and Iraq, across all sectors. The agreement built on the outcomes of the Turkish President’s visit to Iraq last year.
