The Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ziad Ali Fadel, met on Monday with the Korean Ambassador to Iraq, Lee John Owell, in Baghdad to explore opportunities for cooperation in the electricity and energy sector.
During the meeting, the Minister highlighted Iraq’s interest in leveraging Korean expertise in electricity production, transmission, distribution, and modern technologies for plant operation and control systems. Plans for current and future projects were discussed, including network development and initiatives to improve energy supply stability across the country.
Ambassador Lee reaffirmed South Korea’s commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation and encouraged Korean companies to participate in Iraq’s electricity projects, aiming to achieve shared benefits and support the nation’s energy development goals.
