Iraq, Romania Sign MoU to Boost Trade Ties

Iraq and Romania have taken a new step to strengthen economic ties by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between their chambers of commerce in Bucharest.

The agreement was signed by Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, President of the Iraqi Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and the head of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to the Ministry of Trade, the MoU establishes a broader framework for cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, aiming to boost trade, investment, and joint business initiatives.

Officials also held bilateral discussions on preparations for the next meeting of the Iraqi–Romanian Joint Committee. Romania’s business community was invited to attend the upcoming Baghdad International Fair to explore new opportunities in Iraq’s expanding market.

The Ministry said the move reflects Iraq’s commitment to deepening international partnerships and supporting commercial engagement with friendly nations.
