Iraq’s Petroleum Explorations Company has signed an extension of its Memorandum of Joint Cooperation with the Iraqi Geologists Guild, reinforcing institutional partnership and support for the country’s oil exploration sector.
The agreement was signed by Dr Osama Raouf Hussein, Director General of the Petroleum Explorations Company, and Saad Obaid Muhammad, head of the Iraqi Geologists Guild. It aims to strengthen geological capacities, support scientific research, and enhance exploration projects through qualified national expertise.
The renewed memorandum will expand joint work through training programmes, specialised workshops, and the exchange of technical experience, contributing to sustainable development plans in the oil and gas industry.
The extension aligns with the Ministry of Oil’s policy of integrating related institutions and reflects the company’s commitment to developing national geological capabilities, supporting research, and improving graduate skills.
