Prime Minister Al-Sudani met on Sunday with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Iraq, Joshua Harris, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting reviewed regional and international developments and stressed the importance of continued coordination to address shared challenges, contributing to regional stability and security.
Al-Sudani said the Iraq–U.S. relations are witnessing steady progress, reflecting a mutual commitment to expanding cooperation across economic, trade, and investment sectors. Highlighting the importance of building on existing memoranda of understanding and joint agreements to support development and public services projects.
Harris congratulated Iraq on the completion of the mandate of the United Nations Mission in Iraq, describing it as a milestone that marks a new phase of stability and development. He reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to continued cooperation with Iraq.
