The Ministry of Oil announced on Sunday, February 8th, that Iraq’s new refineries including Salah-El-Din/3, North/2, and Karbala has reached 100 per cent of their production capacity.
The Salah-El-Din/3 and North/2 refineries have reached a combined capacity of 140,000 barrels a day and are part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen Iraq’s fuel self-sufficiency and meet local demand for gasoline, gas oil, and kerosene.
Adnan Mohammed Hamoud, Deputy Minister for Refining Affairs, said that the ministry will also soon open a hydrogenation and gasoline upgrading unit in Al-Sumood Complex, with the aim of further enhancing gasoline production volumes and helping meet local consumption demands across Iraq.
