Iraq Launches ITEX 2025 to Drive Digital Transformation

Baghdad hosted the opening of the Iraq International Information and Communications Technology Fair (ITEX 2025) at the Baghdad International Exhibition, under the slogan “Iraq launches towards a new future with digital transformation technology.”

The event, sponsored by Prime Minister Al-Sudani and supervised by the Chairman of the Media and Communications Authority, Dr. Nouvel Abourghev, brought together government ministries, institutions, and leading technology and telecom companies from Iraq, the region, and abroad. Zain Iraq and Alpha Company were the main presenters.

The Prime Minister’s spokesman highlighted the government’s commitment to placing digital transformation at the top of its priorities, creating an investment friendly environment to attract major players in the ICT sector.

Dr. Abourghev described the exhibition as a strategic platform to showcase advanced technological solutions, foster partnerships, and expand investment in Iraq’s digital economy. He stressed that success requires collaboration between the government, private sector, and international partners, noting Iraq’s potential to become a regional hub for digital transformation.

Zain Iraq reaffirmed its plans to expand investment by introducing fifth-generation (5G) technologies, upgrading telecom infrastructure, and launching new digital services.

The five day exhibition and conference featured workshops, technical presentations, and displays from local and international companies, including the Central Bank of Iraq, Onyxes, Switch, and several regional innovators.

Participants praised the showcased digital solutions, which aim to strengthen Iraq’s business environment and accelerate its path toward a modern digital economy.
