Iraq Launches 2025 Job Fair Offering 2,000 Youth Opportunities

Under the supervision of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Ahmed Al-Mubarak, Iraq today launched the 2025 Job Fair in Baghdad, implemented in cooperation with the German development agency GIZ.

The four-day event aims to provide job opportunities for young Iraqis in the private sector, foster partnerships between companies and institutions, and equip youth with the skills needed for the modern labour market.

The Director General of the Department of Regions and Governorates Affairs, Dr Ahmed Saad Al-Alawi, said the Ministry has completed all necessary preparations for the fair, describing it as “the largest and most significant employment event organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with GIZ and a number of supporting companies and organisations.”

He added that the Ministry held an extensive meeting with all participating entities, attended by the Minister, who is personally following up on every detail to ensure the fair’s success and achieve its objective of supporting youth employment and empowerment.

Al-Alawi confirmed that 89 companies are participating, offering more than 2,000 job opportunities. The fair also features training workshops and youth dialogue sessions focused on skill development, innovation, and employability.

The exhibition provides a vital platform for private sector and investment companies to engage with young professionals and explore recruitment opportunities. The Ministry will also offer an on-site service for receiving CVs directly from jobseekers throughout the fair.

The Job Fair will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the Ministry expressing hope that this event, supported by GIZ, will serve as a launchpad for Iraqi youth towards a promising professional future.
