Iraq’s Private Sector Development Department in the Ministry of Trade and the Iraqi-Italian Business Council met to explore ways to expand economic cooperation and investment opportunities between the two countries.
Dr. Malik Al-Dari’i, General Manager of the Department, said discussions focused on attracting Italian companies to Iraq, particularly in industry, services, and technology, while supporting SMEs. He highlighted ongoing business environment reforms and private sector development programmes to stimulate economic growth and ensure successful collaboration.
The Chairman of the Iraqi-Italian Business Council, Mr Salar Omar Saleh praised Iraq’s cooperation and reiterated Italian companies’ interest in expanding investment in the country.
The meeting is part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting international cooperation, strengthening the private sector, and boosting national economic activity.
