Iraq Hosts 49th Baghdad International Fair

From 2-7 Feburary 2026, Baghdad once again takes centre stage as a hub for trade and exchange, hosting the 49th Baghdad International Fair. Held under the patronage of the Iraqi Ministry of Trade and organised by the General Company for Iraqi Exhibitions and Commercial Services, the event carries the theme “New Visions for the Future Economy”, a message that reflects Iraq’s growing confidence and its desire to open wider doors to the world.

The fair is not just a showcase of products. It is a meeting place where businesses, investors, and decision makers come together to explore how Iraq’s economy can grow and connect more deeply with regional and global markets.

This year’s edition brings strong international participation, with exhibitors and official delegations arriving from China, Tunisia, Egypt, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Indonesia, Russia, Ukraine, Oman, India, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Syria, and Turkey.

They represent sectors that matter directly to Iraq’s future, including energy, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, digital technology, and consumer industries. For Iraqi companies, the fair offers a rare chance to engage face-to-face with global players, exchange expertise, and explore joint projects that can move from discussion to delivery.

The presence of the Ministry of Trade gives the fair credibility. By bringing together public institutions and private businesses, the ministry uses the event to support exports, encourage foreign investment, and help Iraqi companies find their place within regional supply chains. Meetings and workshops held during the week give companies space to connect, talk, and build partnerships that last beyond the fair.

Agriculture, a cornerstone of Iraq’s economy and food security, is given particular attention through the participation of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank as a Gold Sponsor. The bank’s role at the fair highlights its work in supporting farmers and agribusinesses through affordable financing, modern banking solutions, and development programmes. Its presence sends a clear message that rural development, sustainable farming, and youth employment remain central to Iraq’s long-term economic planning.

Alongside this, Delos International, also a Gold Sponsor, brings an international design perspective to the fair. Showcasing a range of leading European brands such as LUBE Cucine, FAER Ambienti, Cantori, Vittoria Frigerio, Skema, and BRERA, the company demonstrates how global design standards and technology can be adapted for Iraqi homes, hotels, and commercial spaces. This reflects a wider move towards quality  and international standards.

Beyond the exhibition halls, the fair is filled with discussions, cultural activities, and networking events that underline Baghdad’s historic role as a bridge between regions and ideas. For many visitors, the atmosphere is as important as the business itself a sign of stability, ambition, and a country looking forward.

The 49th Baghdad International Fair is ultimately about more than trade. It is a statement of intent, showing that Iraq is ready to build its future through cooperation, innovation, and openness, and to present itself once again as an active and confident partner on the international stage.
