The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) held talks with the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, with aims to modernise public financial management.
Led by Ms. Sawsan Khalaf, the Director General of the Accounting Department, the meeting focused on staff training and improving governance and oversight. Ms. Khalaf reiterated Iraq’s commitment to meeting international financial system standards through global partnerships.
The discussions with GIZ also covered infrastructure upgrades and sustainable administrative reforms.
The talks reflect Iraq’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and improve public sector performance.
