Iraq Extends Airspace Closure for 72 hours

Civil aviation authorities have extended the closure of airspace for all arriving, departing and overflying aircraft for 72 hours, starting at 12:00 noon local time on Tuesday.

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority said the decision will remain in effect until 12:00 noon on Friday as a temporary precautionary measure.

The move follows ongoing assessments of the security situation and developments in the regional environment, according to the authority.

Officials said the decision will be reviewed in line with any new updates, and airlines and relevant stakeholders will be informed of further developments.
