Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani received a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on Tuesday during which the two officials discussed advancing bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States across multiple fields.
The conversation centred on reinforcing the strategic partnership between Baghdad and Washington, covering political, economic and cultural cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and ensuring the steady implementation of joint agreements reached in recent months.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani underscored his government’s determination to sustain the momentum of cooperation, particularly in expanding economic ties and promoting an attractive investment climate. He also highlighted Iraq’s efforts to facilitate the entry and operations of American companies, reflecting the shared vision of deepening long-term collaboration between the two nations.
The Prime Minister noted that the friendly relationship between Iraq and the United States continues to be built on constructive dialogue and mutual respect. He emphasised the importance of ongoing communication through established diplomatic channels to enhance trust and achieve shared goals, while stressing the need to avoid unilateral actions outside the framework of coordination and consultation.
The call reaffirmed the continued engagement between Baghdad and Washington, as both governments seek to advance mutual interests, strengthen regional stability, and build upon their long-standing partnership.
