Iraq and Sweden Discuss Expanded Industrial Cooperation

Iraq’s Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, met on Sunday with Jörgen Linderstom, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad, to discuss ways to strengthen industrial cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the minister instructed the Ministry’s Investment Directorate to coordinate with a Swedish delegation to review the investment opportunities offered by the ministry and to arrange field visits to its companies to assess their production capacities and industrial capabilities.

For his part, Linderstom affirmed his country’s support for Iraq’s efforts to develop its industrial sector, emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of both nations.

The discussion also covered a number of joint industrial issues, reflecting the two sides’ mutual interest in advancing economic and industrial partnership.
