Historic Saint Gregory Church Reopens in Baghdad

In anticipation of the upcoming Christmas traditions, the Church of Saint Gregory of the Armenian Orthodox in central Baghdad is now reopened following an inauguration by Prime Minister Al-Sudani.

The church, a longstanding place of worship for Iraq’s Armenian Christian community, was undergoing a rehabilitation project for several years and is now open to the public, standing as a symbol of Iraq’s commitment to religious co-existence and cultural diversity.

The Prime Minister, during his speech, underlined the importance of keeping places of worship safe, as shared cultural landmarks.
