Fashion Show in Baghdad Revives Iraq’s Ancient Glory

An evening held at the Al-Jawahiri Hall in Baghdad brought to life the history and cultural heritage of Iraq, through a showcase of timeless beauty and fashion.

Hosted by the Baghdad Fashion House, the evening featured musical performances by the Musical Studies Institute band, conducted by artist Ali Hassan, in addition to a historical costume show that paid tribute to Iraq’s ancient empires. From Sumer, to Babylon and Assyria, elaborate outfits celebrating these dynasties were showcased on stage.

Dignitaries, academics and foreign delegates alike attended the event, all led by the Director General of the Fashion House, Mrs Nawjan Faris Abdullah.

The evening served as both a celebration of Iraq’s national identity, and a powerful reminder of the country’s artistic influence worldwide.
