The ancient city of Babylon hosted a diplomatic visit by a delegation from the Brazilian Embassy in Iraq, as part of efforts to enhance international cultural engagement and highlight the importance of cultural tourism and Iraq’s rich historical heritage.
The visit included guided tours of key archaeological sites within the ancient city, where specialised staff provided detailed briefings on Babylon’s history, its civilisational significance, and its significant role in human history.
The delegation also toured the Babylon Museum, reviewing a collection of archaeological artefacts from different historical periods, accompanied by explanations of their historical and scientific value.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the valuable information provided, emphasising the importance of such visits in promoting cultural exchange and introducing the world to Babylonian civilisation.
In a related development, inspection tours were conducted at several archaeological sites in Babylon Province, including Tel Zlenta, Tel Al-Mansouriya, and Jamdat Umm Al-Fahl, in coordination with relevant authorities and the Antiquities Protection Police, to support monitoring and preservation efforts.
