In a festive atmosphere that echoes the spirit of December, the French Institute in Iraq – Baghdad, in collaboration with the Institute of Handicrafts and Popular Arts, are organising aChristmas Bazaar on 13 December, at the Institute of Handicrafts and Popular Arts.
The event opens its doors to the public to explore the work of young artisans showcasing a variety of handmade creations, including carpets, copperwork, woodcrafts, and paintings offering a vivid display of Iraqi craftsmanship that blends both traditional and contemporary styles.
Beyond viewing the pieces, visitors will also have the chance to purchase items directly from the Institute’s shop located in Al-Mansour opposite the Arab Child Hospital, making the bazaar an ideal opportunity to prepare holiday gift lists and choose unique, locally made art pieces for the New Year celebrations.
This event comes as part of an ongoing cultural collaboration between Iraq and France. The French Institute continues to play a key role in strengthening artistic exchange and supporting young talent through joint projects, exhibitions, and partnerships with Iraqi cultural institutions. The Christmas Bazaar stands as a clear example of this cooperation, merging the celebration of Iraqi artisanal heritage with a space for meaningful cultural interaction.
The invitation is open to everyone to enjoy the holiday atmosphere and discover the beauty of Iraqi craftsmanship within an event that reflects the artistic and cultural connection between the two countries.
