Baghdad–Mosul Entrance Expansion and Redevelopment Project Completed

The expanded and redeveloped Baghdad–Mosul entrance has officially opened, marking the completion of a key infrastructure project aimed at easing congestion and improving access to the capital.

The 11-kilometre route, running from Al-Dawwar overpass to Al-Masabih overpass, has been transformed from a narrow, deteriorated passage into a modern gateway designed to accommodate growing traffic and enhance connectivity.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, and the Mayor of Baghdad, Engineer Ammar Mousa Kazem. Officials noted that the development of Baghdad’s entrances is considered a priority for both federal and local authorities, reflecting efforts to modernise the city’s infrastructure.

The Baghdad Municipality was commended for delivering the project within the designated timeframe. The Baghdad–Mosul entrance forms part of a broader plan to redevelop the capital’s main thoroughfares into efficient, modern corridors serving citizens and visitors alike.
