Baghdad Launches Eid Beautification Campaign

The Mayor of Baghdad, Engineer Ammar Musa Kazem, has issued advices to all municipal departments to implement a comprehensive service and beautification plan ahead of Eid al-Adha.

As part of the initiative, entry to Al-Zawraa Park and all other public parks in the capital will be free of charge, offering families and residents more accessible recreation during the holiday.

Municipal workers have been tasked with improving the city’s appearance and services through a variety of measures. These include upgrading the entrances to the city, cleaning pavements in front of mosques and schools, and ensuring that streets, bridges, and tunnels are regularly washed, beginning as early as 4:00 a.m. to minimise traffic disruption.

The campaign also emphasises enhancing decorative street lighting with coordinated colours, repairing and operating public fountains, and removing all visual blight from major and secondary roads.

In addition, the municipality will continue its street, park, and median maintenance operations, as well as its ongoing efforts to boost Baghdad’s green cover.

The plan reflects the capital’s commitment to presenting a clean, festive, and welcoming environment during the Eid celebrations.
