Baghdad International Theater Festival Opens its Doors to the Public

On the 10th of October 2023, Baghdad International Theater Festival curates its fourth event which will be sponsored by Muhammad Shia’ Al Sudani. The festival offers a great opportunity for Iraqi and Arab artists to showcase their theatrical pieces. After 150 applications of theatrical performances, only 20 were chosen for the festival, which included 3 Iraqi, 9 Arab, and 8 foreign pieces. Many countries of Europe, South America, and Asia participated in the competition, bringing a strong recognition to the festival.

The festival’s directors have decided to add 3 more Iraqi artists who will perform their theatrical pieces outside of the competition. There will be themes of special needs and a show for the blind.

Jordanian, Egyptian, and Tunisian Ministers of Culture will be attending the opening of the event along with diplomats.
