The Director General of the Legal Department, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Mustafa, chaired a crucial meeting today with the Head of the Kurdistan Region Representation in Baghdad and his accompanying delegation. The session focused on exploring the possibility of extending the provisions of the national Retirement Law to retirees in the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Director General of the State Employees Retirement Fund, the Director General of Central Activity in the Financial Supervision Bureau, and a representative from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
This marks the second round of discussions on the issue, as the Ministry of Finance continues its efforts to unify retirement provisions and benefits for all Iraqi citizens, including those in the Kurdistan Region.
The dialogue is seen as an important step towards addressing long-standing discrepancies in retirement laws between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, and the parties involved remain optimistic about reaching a comprehensive solution.
