The Ministry of Transport announced significant progress in the construction of Al-Nasiriya International Airport, with the project now reaching advanced stages and on track for completion by the end of this year.
Minister of Transport, Razzaq Al-Saadawi, confirmed that works on the airport’s exterior buildings have achieved a 95 percent completion rate. The overall progress of the project stands at around 85 percent, supported by the arrival of modern equipment to accelerate the final stages.
The airport, once operational, is expected to strengthen Iraq’s air transport infrastructure and provide vital services to citizens in Dhi Qar Governorate and neighbouring provinces.
The opening of Al-Nasiriya International Airport represents a major milestone for Iraq’s aviation sector, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic development in the south of the country.
