Al-Naseriyah Airport Nears Completion Ahead of Opening

The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Mohebs Al-Saadawi, inspected Al-Naseriyah International Airport on Sunday, reviewing final works and preparations for its pilot opening.

The visit included the Governor of Dhi Qar, senior transport officials, and representatives from the Chinese contractor CSCEC. They assessed infrastructure completion, navigation systems, and project timelines, with all parties confirming the airport is on track for operational readiness.

Al-Saadawi said the airport will boost the local economy, create jobs, and serve as a key gateway connecting southern Iraq with regional and international destinations.

Governor Haitham Al-Hamdani confirmed the governorate’s support for final infrastructure works, including roads, water, and electricity, to ensure smooth operations.
