As part of the First Energy Conference held in Wasit Governorate, the Ministry of Education presented a series of forward-looking proposals aimed at supporting Iraq’s transition to clean energy through enhanced educational awareness and inter-ministerial cooperation.
The event, which brought together officials, educators, and international renewable energy experts, emphasised the importance of community engagement in advancing environmental sustainability.
According to a statement from the Ministry’s media office, the General Directorate of Education in Wasit outlined several plans to contribute to clean energy goals. These include integrating renewable energy topics into school curricula, promoting student-led environmental clubs, and launching nationwide awareness campaigns in collaboration with relevant ministries and organisations.
The proposed initiatives align with Iraq’s broader efforts to reduce carbon emissions, combat environmental pollution, and expand green spaces. By targeting schools and communities, the Ministry of Education aims to foster a culture of sustainability and equip the next generation with the knowledge and tools to support Iraq’s clean energy transition.
