In line with the directives of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, the Iraqi Drilling Company has successfully completed the drilling of 13 new oil wells and the remediation of 53 others across various fields between January and 21 April 2025.
Director General of the Iraqi Drilling Company, Engineer Hassan Mohammed Hassan, highlighted that these achievements demonstrate the high competence and preparedness of the company’s engineering and technical teams. He noted that all operations were executed in full compliance with advanced technical standards and within the designated timeframes, in coordination with both national and international extraction companies operating in Iraq.
Engineer Hassan affirmed that the Iraqi Drilling Company serves as the primary national entity for well drilling and maintenance, thanks to its extensive expertise, modern fleet of equipment, and skilled workforce. He emphasised that the company’s growing performance aligns with the Ministry of Oil’s broader strategy to enhance infrastructure, boost production rates, and maximise the investment in Iraq’s natural resources.
The recent successes further cement the Iraqi Drilling Company’s vital role in supporting the country’s energy ambitions and strengthening the operational capacity of the oil sector.
