Iraqi Council for Businesswomen Promotes Women Empowerment

Baghdad – (iina) The Baghdad International Fair exhibits a section for Iraqi businesswomen who run independent businesses. Dr. Sabah Al-Tameemi established this initiative, in order to empower women and give them opportunities to partner with other countries to develop their independent businesses. As many of them started from small businesses, their participation in the fair allows them to grow bigger and attract more clients and recognition.

The products they sell are mostly handmade and is evolved around their culture. They are also offered training to manage their business independently.

The aim of the fair is not only to empower Iraqi women by finding them a place in the Iraqi society, as they have as great of a potential as men. But also, to help them find financial freedom and to show that they are capable to handle a business successfully so they can support themselves financially.
