Iraq to provide $20 million each to Lebanon and Palestine to support reconstruction and humanitarian efforts in both regions, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al – Sudani announced in his opening speech at the 34th Arab League Summit in Baghdad on Saturday.
This financial contribution highlights Iraq’s growing role in strengthening regional solidarity and its steadfast support for neighbouring countries in times of crisis.
In significant diplomatic gesture, the Prime Minister also proposed the establishment of an Arab Reconstruction Fund to support and aid post-conflict recovery across the region.
Hosting the summit, the Prime Minister described that this is not just a meeting, declaring it a turning point toward a better future for our peoples. He emphasised the pride Iraq takes in welcoming the Arab League to Baghdad, highlighting the country’s role in creating regional solutions and addressing any shared challenges.
