Iraq and Azerbaijan Sign a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ for Tourism

The Head of the Tourism Authority, Dhafer Mahdi Abdullah, signed an agreement to develop tourism between Iraq and Azerbaijan. The process took place in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, where the President of Iraq, Dr Abdul Latif Rashid, was present.

The aim of the discussions is to create an easier flow of tourists between Iraq and Azerbaijan, as well as exchanging tourism expertise for the people working in the tourism industry from both countries. Also, they discussed the importance of cooperating in investments in regards of international organisations, such as the World Tourism Organisation.

The President of Iraq expressed that Iraq’s international relations are crucial for the country and the government is putting a strong importance developing those relations for the benefit of Iraq’s and Azerbaijan’s citizens.
