The Communications and Media Commission along with the Governorate of Holy Karbala held the first Coordinating Media Conference. The conference was attended by media representatives including directors of satellite channels, newspaper directors, radio stations directors, and representatives of international news agencies.

The Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, emphasised the importance of media’s role in conveying positive messages about the governorate. He mentioned successful collaboration between media and other institutions as a fundamental pillar for conveying Karbala’s message of success, development, reconstruction, and services provided for visitors.

A discussion seminar was also held between media institutions and the Governor where they addressed the governorate’s future plans for development and reconstruction.

Jader Al-Jader, Director of the Media Regulation Department, said the conference was the first step in implementing the Commission’s strategy to create constructive dialogue between media and government officials. Mr. Al-Jader, stressed the need for regular meetings across Iraqi governorates. He highlighted the importance of media coverage during the upcoming Muharram and Arbaeen pilgrimage, and CMC’s commitment to providing support to media institutions during the month of Muharram.
