IBBC Spring Conference: Fostering Business Ties

Discussions centred on economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and bilateral trade, highlighting mutual commitments to sustainable development. Key sectors like energy, finance, and technology were focal points, emphasising potential partnerships. Networking opportunities facilitated exchanges aimed at enhancing economic prosperity and stability in both nations, underscoring the event’s significance in strengthening Iraq-UK business relations and fostering innovation in the global marketplace.

The conference gathered a notable assembly of delegates, including H.E. Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Oil, along with H.E. Dr Mohammed Shukri, Chairman of the Kurdistan Investment Board, and Dr Abdulkareem Faisal, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council. Key figures from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and esteemed guests such as Alderman Barr, The Rt Hon the Lord Mayor’s Representative, The Rt Hon Lord Howell of Guildford, and Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, IBBC President, also graced the event. Special attention was given to sectors like energy, finance, and technology, with sessions featuring experts like Dr Luay Al Khateeb from Columbia University’s Centre on Global Energy Policy and industry leaders from TotalEnergies, BP, Basra Gas Company, Hydro-C, and Wood Plc.
