CMC Participated in the 100th Session of the Arab Committee for Information

Tripoli, Libya – (iina) A delegation from the Communications and Media Commission participated in the meetings of the 100th regular session of the Permanent Arab Committee for Information held in Libya. The meetings witnessed an agreement to update the Media Honour Charter and enhance the status of Arab women.

During the meeting, 16 items were discussed within the agenda of the session, addressing several files, some of which were related to the Palestinian issue, the international negotiation team with social media companies, and the Permanent Arab Committee for Information. As well as the topic of the Media Excellence Award and sustainable development issues.

On the sidelines of the meetings and in accordance with the directive of Dr. Ali Al-Moayad, the President of the Communications and Media Commission, to open up to regional and similar Arab entities, the delegation of the commission, led by Mr. Jader Al-Jader, Head of the Media Regulation Department, met with the President of the General Authority for Monitoring Libyan Content, Mr. Jalal Osman.

During the meeting, the discussions included aspects of cooperation between the two entities and the exchange of expertise in the field of media monitoring and combating hate speech. The Iraqi experience in media monitoring was reviewed, along with the technical and technological steps adopted by the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission in developing monitoring programs and combating fake news.
