Baghdad International Book Fair Opens for its 24th Edition

Baghdad – (iina) The 24th edition of the Baghdad International Book Fair opened on Sunday, September 18th, with the participation of over 200 publishing houses from 20 Arab and foreign countries. The fair will run until September 27th.

The Baghdad International Book Fair is one of the most important cultural events in Iraq. It provides an opportunity for Iraqi readers to learn about the latest Arabic and international publications and supports the Iraqi publishing industry.

The fair was inaugurated by Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shayya’ Sabbar Al-Sudani, in the presence of Minister of Culture and Tourism Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani and a number of officials and cultural figures.

In his opening speech, Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the book fair in promoting culture and knowledge and providing Iraqi readers with an opportunity to learn about the latest Arabic and international publications. He added that the Iraqi government will take a number of measures to facilitate the work of Iraqi publishing houses in order to support cultural and enlightenment activities.

The fair features a variety of books in a wide range of subjects, including literature, science, history, politics, and self-development. It also includes a number of cultural events, including lectures, seminars, book signings, and art exhibitions.
