Archaeological Missions of the Near East

The University of Heidelberg carries thorough archaeological research in the old city of Nineveh. The project is taking place after a collaboration between the General Authority for Antiquities and Germany. Their mission involves discovering archaeological sites and preserving heritage sites in Iraq. They have worked on many other sites, such as palaces of Ashurbanipal, Sennacherib, and Esarhaddon.

For the eighth season of research, Doctor David Nadali and archaeological students of the University of Rome are working on the ancient city of Lagash, located between the Tigris and Euphrates River.
