The Baghdad Municipality initiates many environmental projects in order to improve the risks of climate change. The projects involve creating 108 new parks and planting 375,000 trees to expand green areas in Baghdad.
Iraq has faced extreme heat and water shortage in the past few years, which is drastically affecting the population of Iraq. Especially, the agriculture that keeps the country running.
Al-Zawraa Park in Baghdad is abundant with trees and vegetation, inviting families and citizens of the city to rejuvenate amidst the intense heat and breathe cleaner air away from the city’s pollution. The expansion of green spaces will significantly enhance the health of Iraqi citizens and sets a great example to keep the planet clean.
