Al-Chibayish Marsh Thrives During Tourist Season

Nasiriyah – (iina) Al-Chibayish marsh is a natural wetland in Nasiriyah. The wetland comes from the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers, where many animals reside, such as birds and fishes, as well as other living things like papyrus plants.

Tourists are now very keen to explore this area of Iraq due to its ancient history of a thousand years. The tourists are transported by wooden boats around the marshlands, where they can admire the Mesopotamian marshes.

Also, the Marsh Arabs, who are the people living there, still hold strong traditional values from their ancestors through their clothing and lifestyle.

Unfortunately, due to climate change, the marshes are in danger of dryness along with all the animals, living things, and civilisation.
